The Multicultural Assessment Standards Revision task force has been working to update the 2003 Multicultural Assessment Standards (see “Resources”). We want to hear from you! Please review the attached revision and send your comments/feedback to Dr. Linda Foster (drlindafoster@gmail.com) no later than February 28, 2012.

In 2013, the American Psychiatric Association will release the DSM-V diagnostic manual. The revised manual is scheduled to include many changes and the process by which it is being created and developed has been a topic of concern for many mental health professionals. In fact, several associations have called on APA to consider the probelmatic way in which they are constructing the manual all mental health professionals will use in the future. AACE is pleased to announce the recipients of the first annual Emerging Scholars Award. Dr. Jacqueline Swank, Assistant Professor at the University of Florida and Gulsah Kemer, doctoral student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro were selected from a pool of highly qualified applicants this year. Both Jacqueline and Gulsah attended the Executive Board meeting at this year's conference in Fort Worth, TX and will be participating in other leadership activites throughout the year. Congratulations to them both!

Congratulations to Dr. Rick Balkin who assumed the editorship of the AACE journal Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development on July 1, 2011. Many thanks to outgoing editor Dr. Dimiter Dimitrov for his vision and leadership for the past six years.
