Welcome to the official homepage of the Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling A Division of the American Counseling Association The members of AARC are a dynamic group of professionals who share a common passion for measurement and evaluation. We encourage you to spend some time exploring our site to learn more about AARC and the activities and projects in which current members are engaged. If you would like to join AARC, information is provided below which describes the process for new members to join AARC. Additionally, a copy of our membership borchure is available by clicking here **What's New** Make plans to join us for the 2013 AARC National Assessment and Research Conference this fall in beautiful Houston, Texas. The conference is scheduled for September 6-7, 2013 and will be held at the Embassy Suites-Galleria. If you would like to present at this year's conference program proposals are now being accepted. The call for proposals can be found here. The submission deadline is June 15, 2013 (midnight). To register for the conference please view our Conference page. Early-bird rates are still available so register now and save! Any questions regarding the conference can be directed to Dr. Catharina Chang at cychang@gsu.edu This past September at the annual business meeting the membership voted to change the division name. We are now know as the Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling (AARC). This change was made to better reflect the former AACE's expanded vision to address research and evaluation in our profession, in addition to continuing its focus on assessment and diagnostic considerations. In the coming weeks you will be receiving additinal information about our new brand. AARC (formerly AACE) is a great place for students to network and develop their professional skills. Hear what students who attended the most recent AACE conference in Fort Worth have to say about their experiences in AARC/AACE. (click here for video). The 2012 AARC Emerging Scholar Award recipients were announced at the past National Assessment and Research Conference in Orlando, Florida. This year's recipients are Dr. Stephen Lenz from the University of Memphis and Dr. Christina Hamme Peterson from Rider University. If you are interested in becoming an AARC Emerging Scholar, please visit our Awards page for more information. Past issues of the AARC newsletter NewsNotes are now available online. You can download these issues by visiting the Resources page. The June 2012 issue is now available for download.
